"Johnny's voice is easy and smooth, with a distinctive, creative bent and a light vibrato like John Pizzarelli".
Fred Bouchard - Downbeat Magazine

"Trumpeter and vocalist Johnny Souza has an incredibly strong and pure tone as well as a fluid attack that produces well articulated, melodic lines.  With his latest release "Meet Me In The City", Souza has once again raised the bar of jazz trumpet."
Eric Cohen, Music Director - WAER - Jazz 88 - Syracuse, NY

"Souza's forte lies in his prodigious instrumental solos, either on trumpet or flugelhorn he employs smooth, legato lines, his sense of melody and improvisation, ever renewing, does not fall into the trap of excessive cliches and loquaciousness"

Ernie Santosuosso - Boston Globe Jazz Critic/QuarterNotes Jazz Publication

"Johnny Souza's trumpet is superb, clean cut - his doubles and triples are as sharp as the air they ride. Johnny's flugelhorn smiles widely.  And Johnny sings "madly" - as Ellington might  say."
Peter Deveber- Author, Contributor New England Jazz Alliance
